Apple’s new Mac mini is offering chipsets M4 and M4 Pro
All Models feature Gigabit Ethernet and Thunderbolt ports
Apple says this is its first carbon-neutral Macs

Apple introduced an updated version of the Mac Mini, its compact desktop computer, following the launch of the 24-inch iMac M4 the previous day. The new Mac Mini is available with two chipset choices: M4 and M4 Pro, with the latter being newly introduced. The M4 variant is said to deliver performance up to 1.7 times faster than the Mac Mini M1. Moreover, the M4 Pro-powered desktop can handle 3D rendering tasks in Blender up to 2.9 times faster.

The base model of the Mac Mini with the M4 chip in India starts at Rs. 59,900 and includes a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory, and 256GB of SSD storage. This model can be customized with up to 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

On the other hand, the Mac Mini with the M4 Pro chip is priced at Rs. 1,49,900 in India and features a 12-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 24GB of memory, and 512GB of SSD storage. Users have the option to configure the Mac Mini with up to a 14-core CPU, up to a 20-core GPU, up to 64GB of memory, and up to 8TB of SSD storage.

Both models also offer the choice to include 10-bit Gigabit Ethernet for an additional cost of Rs. 10,000. The latest Mac Mini is available for pre-order today at Apple Stores and authorized retailers, with shipping commencing on November 8.

Specifications of Mac Mini with M4 Chip
The Mac Mini equipped with the M4 chip boasts a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, can accommodate up to 24GB of unified memory, and has up to 512GB of built-in SSD storage. Apple touts performance enhancements of up to 1.8 times for the CPU and up to 2.2 times for the GPU over the M1 version. The redesigned Mac Mini, measuring 5×5 inches, is significantly smaller than its predecessor. It can transcribe using on-device AI speech-to-text with up to twice the speed in MacWhisper.

Apple has also unveiled a more advanced iteration of the Mac Mini featuring the new M4 Pro chipset. This upgraded version offers up to a 14-core CPU, up to a 20-core GPU, supports up to 64GB of unified memory, and up to 8TB of SSD storage. Compared to the M2 Pro Mac Mini, this model is said to accelerate motion graphics rendering to RAM up to 2 times faster in Motion.

Both Mac Mini versions are equipped with Apple AI support and feature two front USB Type-C ports with USB 3 speeds and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Mac Mini M4 has three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the M4 Pro version includes three Thunderbolt 5 ports. Both models also come with Gigabit Ethernet and an HDMI port.

The first carbon-neutral Mac Mini by Apple is made with 50% recycled content overall, including 100% recycled aluminum in the enclosure, 100% recycled gold plating in Apple-designed printed circuit boards, and 100% recycled rare earth elements in all magnets.
